Cracked Pot

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water, at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

Vagina Monologues

Its a show based on a collection of womens stories. Every monologue relates to the vagina, be it through sex, love, rape, menstruation, mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the variety of names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the female body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.

Before going I wasn't sure what I would think of Carol Smiley in this role, as normally I'm not her biggest fan. However, she did come across well, and after
seeing her simulate an orgasm on stage Im not sure I'll view her in the
same light again.

Its a girls night out with a twist, if you haven't been you should
definately try to get along.

Cliche!

I hate to fall into a cliche, but its official, I have re joined the gym! I was super lazy last year (not all my fault, I was working to a crazy schedule) so this year I need to make up for that (lets see how long it lasts)

Its all coming down!

Its time to take the tree and decorations down. I feel sad when this has to happen as the place always looks a bit dull without the shiny decorations and twinkly lights!

Happy New Year

So its been a while since I blogged, I keep getting in the swing of blogging and just as quickly fall out of it!

So since the last post, we have had Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year! This year has been a great Christmas, lots of catching up with friends, resting, watching old films and of course eating and drinking too much (hence re-joining the gym hopefully my resolve lasts longer than January!).

New Year turned out to be one of the worst nights of weather we have had, pretty nasty stuff, however it didn't dampen our festivities as we were cosy and dry at a flat party. New Years day was spent at another friends flat, with a common theme of lots of friends, food and drink - great way to start the new year.

Happy New Year to all, hope 2007 brings all that you wish for, and if you have made any resolutions I hope you keep them!!
